Shield N Sheath is family owned and inspired by professional thrower, Dan Pegg.
Dan began knife-throwing roughly ten years ago for fun but quickly learned that his talents could go far beyond a recreational activity. As a result, he researched throwing competitions and traveled to Las Vegas to formally compete. The showing in Vegas affirmed his skills, and he's been throwing competitively since. Dan is a prior member of the Team USA Knife and Axe Throwing team, ranking globally in no-spin knife, rotational knife, and tomahawk. Dan has numerous knife and axe throwing titles to his name, including a #1 Rotational Knife podium finish in Sweden in 2023, and as the #1 Overall Thrower at the United Knife and Axe Throwing World Championships in Carpi, Italy in 2022. Dan has also appeared on the History Channel on the reality competition show - Mountain Men: Ultimate Marksman.
Long story short - If Dan didn't realize he had some bad-axe throwing skills paired with his wife's business mindset, Shield N Sheath wouldn't be here today.
Our hatchet house was opened in 2021 with the objective of teaching all walks of people how to throw, whether it be for competitive reasons or just for fun. That being said, the overarching goal at Shield N Sheath is to ensure positive, entertaining axe-periences.
Our professional axe-tructors and commitment to safety make it easy for you to let loose, channel your inner bad-axe, and get axe-cited to throw time and time again.

HOURS
Monday: Closed for private events.
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday: 3:00 - 9:30 pm (Last booking 8pm)
Saturday: 1:00 - 9:30 pm (Last booking 8pm)
Sunday: 1:00 - 6:30 pm (Last booking 5pm)
SAFETY
All participants must have a signed Waiver of Liability on file. Go to our Online Document and e-Sign now before you forget. Parents must sign for minor children. Minimum age to throw is 12 years (must be 18 for knife throwing). Younger children are always welcome to be in attendance during your session.
Closed toed shoes are required.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Because our staffing is based on our booking schedule, we require at least 48 hours notice to refund, modify or cancel any event. Cancellations made within 48 hours can only be given credit toward a future date, which is valid for 1 year and subject to availability.
*Additionally, any modifications made during "minimum participation" events (private events/large group only days/full facility bookings) will be required to cover the entire cost of the minimum participants unless otherwise agreed upon by management.

ALCOHOL
We serve beer, seltzers, canned cocktails, and wine. No liquor is served at Shield N Sheath.
